Grad.Match Application
In an ever-evolving job market, recent graduates often find themselves navigating a sea of generic job hunting platforms that fail to address their unique needs and aspirations. This project aimed to design a completely new app from the ground up, emphasizing strategic design for business to bridge this gap. The result is **Grad.Match**, an innovative job hunting app tailored specifically for graduates from design programs.
1. Objectives and Strategic Design Process
The primary goal of this project was to create an app that not only connects recent design graduates with potential employers but also offers a holistic platform for professional growth. To achieve this, the development process was rooted in a comprehensive strategic design framework, encompassing several key elements:
1.1. Unique Value Proposition:
Grad.Match differentiates itself by focusing on the critical aspect of portfolio showcasing within the job hunting app. Unlike traditional platforms, Grad.Match integrates a robust portfolio feature, allowing users to present their work visually and contextually to potential employers.
1.2. Competitor Research:
A thorough analysis of existing job hunting platforms revealed gaps and opportunities. By understanding what competitors offered—and where they fell short—Grad.Match was designed to fill these voids, particularly in areas of networking, skill development, and user experience.
1.3. Lean Canvas:
The lean canvas model was employed to map out the core components of the business strategy. This included identifying customer segments, defining unique value propositions, delineating key activities, and outlining cost structures and revenue streams.
1.4. Customer Profiling:
Detailed customer profiles were created to understand the target audience deeply. This involved identifying the pain points and aspirations of recent design graduates, ensuring that the app’s features were aligned with their specific needs.
1.5. UI/UX Research:
User interface and user experience research was pivotal. The design aimed for an optimal user experience, focusing on intuitive navigation, visually appealing interfaces, and seamless interactions to keep users engaged and satisfied.
2. Grad.Match Features and Value Proposition
Grad.Match stands out with its comprehensive suite of features designed to support the career advancement of design graduates:
2.1. Portfolio Showcasing:
Users can create detailed portfolios that highlight their skills, projects, and accomplishments, providing a compelling narrative to potential employers.
2.2. Networking Opportunities:
The app facilitates connections with industry professionals, peers, and mentors, fostering a supportive community and offering seminar opportunities to expand knowledge and networks.
2.3. In-App Skill Development Tools:
Grad.Match includes tools and resources for ongoing skill development, helping users stay current with industry trends and enhance their employability.
The combination of these features ensures that Grad.Match is not just a job hunting app but a comprehensive career-building platform.
Conclusion
Grad.Match was meticulously designed with a strategic business approach to meet the unique needs of design program graduates. By focusing on portfolio showcasing, providing networking and seminar opportunities, and integrating skill development tools, Grad.Match delivers an optimal user experience that sets it apart in the competitive landscape of job hunting apps. The project exemplifies how thoughtful, strategic design can create a product that is both innovative and deeply aligned with its users' needs.

Veritas Magazine
This magazine represents the culmination of my final project for my typography class. We were provided with pre-selected articles, a magazine name, and several mandatory elements to incorporate. Before delving into the magazine's design, we undertook a meticulous proofreading process, ensuring the elimination of double spaces, correct use of capitalization, proper dash usage, and overall textual accuracy. Armed with 'carte blanche' for the design phase, we were tasked with creating a polished end result that includes three distinct covers and a fully designed magazine, reflecting our unique typographic and layout skills.

Go Places Website & Application
This project is an extension of a previous assignment where we had to design a travel ad for the fictional travel agency Go Places. The goal was to design a website and an adaptation for mobile screens that acts as an online guide for the adventure tours that the agency offers. In a later stage, for my web design class, I continued working with the same website but brought it more to life by actually coding the homepage.

Go Places Advertisements
For this project, the objective was to design a striking black and white advertisement for the fictional travel agency, Go Places. Specializing in adventure tours to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights, Go Places needed an ad that captured the essence of their unique offering. The challenge was to create the entire illustration using only lines and dots, emphasizing the beauty and mystery of the Northern Lights in a minimalist, monochromatic style. Through the strategic use of these elements, the ad aims to evoke a sense of wonder and adventure, enticing viewers to embark on an unforgettable journey with Go Places.

Time Out Application
Introducing Time Out - Mobile App, a collaborative group project created for a UI/UX class. This mobile app is designed for time management and was developed using Figma for design and prototyping. The project showcases the team's skills in user interface and user experience design, and the innovative use of technology to address the common need for efficient time management.

Personal Brand Identity
This project is all about developing a cohesive and professional style guide for my own brand as a graphic designer. Through this guide, I aim to showcase my design philosophy, visual identity, and the standards that define my work, ensuring consistency and clarity in all my personal branding endeavors.

Coco Style Guide
The goal of this project was to redesign the style guide for the existing furniture brand, Burrow. Tasked with creating a new brand identity, we were granted the creative freedom to develop a fresh logo, typography, and brand colours, provided we could justify each design element. I reimagined the brand as a more luxurious furniture line, renaming it to Coco, and embraced a warmer color palette to evoke a sense of elegance and comfort. Through this transformation, my aim was to elevate the brand's appeal and align it with a more upscale market, ensuring every design choice reflected this new vision.

Stella Artois Annual Report
For my Stella Artois project, the objective was to design an annual report for a brand of our choice. The first step involved researching the brand and thoroughly understanding their style guide, as adherence to these guidelines was crucial throughout the project. I chose Stella Artois not only because it's a well-known Belgian company, but also because it allows me to represent a piece of home—and, truth be told, I also just simply like a cold pint of Stella now and then. The annual report serves as the final project; however, over the course of the term, we also created an infographic and some other touch points both of which were designed in strict accordance with the Stella Artois style guide. This project has been a rewarding challenge, blending creativity with the discipline of maintaining brand integrity.

Book Covers
The goal of this project was to design two distinct covers for two fictional books authored by the renowned writer Elizabeth Gilbert. The instructions provided by the professor emphasized the importance of practicing the full spectrum of the design process. This included developing a clear message and concept, and skillfully implementing these ideas using the elements of visual structure.
I was guided through the essential stages of the design workflow, which involved creating thumbnails, sketches, and mock-ups before arriving at the final designs. An integral part of the project was to gain inspiration from Elizabeth Gilbert’s TED talk, "Your Creative Genius." By engaging with Gilbert's insights on creativity, I was expected to channel my own creative processes into my book jacket designs.
Ultimately, this project aimed to blend creative theory with practical application, allowing me to produce visually compelling and conceptually rich book covers.
